Volunteer: Water Team VolunteerAs part of the Water Team and in working to maintain the "life support system" of pumps, filters, and salt water, you will be serving a critical role in helping our sea turtle patients get well! Openings available several days of the week. Responsibilities: Make salt water and utilize the pump system to distribute the water mixture to where it is needed in the facility. Check and maintain salinity and temperature of the salt water. Maintain the filtering system as needed, and setup, operate, and remove temporary pumping systems. Must develop a conceptual understanding of plumbing lines and able to operate plumbing valves. Plumbing system requires depressurization for cleaning and maintenance activities. Must be able to de-energize electrical equipment when needed. Able to remove and replace aquarium filters and filter lids. Able to use the garden hose or pressure washer to remove waste and debris.
